My Skincare Routine!

I’m not so obsessed with skincare as I am makeup, although I do like to try and take care of my skin. My skincare collection isn’t as huge as some peoples but I thought I’d share my routine with you!
I’d love to say I have a normal skin type, lovely clear and blemish free, well I don’t! It’s very much combination, I have an oily T-Zone, but towards the end of the day my cheeks can feel tight and dry. I suffered with slight acne in my teens and as a result I have a little scarring on my cheeks and I still get the occasional breakout! Now that I’m approaching 30 *groans*, I’m aware that I should be using anti aging products!

Morning Cleanse

In the shower every morning I cleanse twice and at the moment I am loving the No7 Beautiful Skin Foaming Cleanser, it’s a very lightweight formula with a delicate fresh scent, perfect for the Morning!

Morning Treatment
After I have cleansed I apply the Manuka Doctor Skin Treatment Serum under my moisturiser, this is an oil-free, lightweight serum which helps skin like mine by smoothing the skins texture and reducing the appearance of scarring and fine lines. I am loving this at the moment, my skin feels smoother and it seems to have reduced redness on my cheeks.

After having around 4 years of broken sleep due to my young children, I have developed quite dark circles under my eyes and I have recently noticed fine lines, so I like to use a good eye cream. I use the Origins GinZing  Eye cream. Due to the caffeine, ginseng, and magnolia extract, this beautiful cream brightens the skin and reduces puffiness. It really freshens and adds radiance to the delicate eye area!

Morning Moisturise
Origins VitaZing SPF15 Eneryg Boosting Moisturiser  £26

Being so fair, I must use a moisturiser with an SPF. I love the Origins VitaZing SPF15 Engery Boosting Moisturiser, this adds radiance and protects the skin with the SPF. It also has a very sheer tint to it, which is great for when I want a very light coverage to wear on its own when I go to the gym!

Night Cleanse
Kleenex Facial Cleansing Wipes £2.99

I’m really lazy when it comes to cleansing at night, I always remove my makeup though as there is nothing worse than waking up with sticky eyes and a huge spot as a result of clogged pores. However If I’m not having a bath in the evening, I will just use a face wipe. I know this is terrible and they don’t remove nearly enough makeup as needed, I just can’t be bothered by the time I’m ready for bed. When I have a Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth cleanser on the go, I will make the effort. However right now I have run out so I’m using the new Kleenex wipes, they are quilted and super soft and really moist. So happy using these at the moment.

Night Treatment
Sanctuary Warming Microbrasion Polish £11.99

I like to exfoliate 3 times a week, my skin can look a little dull if I forget to. I love the Sanctuary Warming Micro Brasion Polish, this is possibly one of the best exfoliators I used (alongside Origins Never A Dull Moment). You apply it to damp skin, the very fine yet thick, dense scrub warms when massaged into the skin. This contains rich Beeswax, jojoba and wheatgerm which helps hydrate the skin.
Soap & Glory The Fab Pore Facial Peel £8

I also like to use a mask twice a week. At the moment I’m using the Soap & Glory The Fab Pore Facial Peel. This mask contains antioxidants Vitamins E & C, Salicylic Acid which loosens up the dead skin cells and Kaolin Clay which soaks up the excess oil.  This is definitely for an oily, problem skin, so I only use this on my T-Zone, I do occasionally have open pores on my cheeks, although I feel it would be a little harsh on those areas. You rub a small ‘grape sized dollop’ onto the face and massage until the green beads have dissolved and leave on for up to 15mins. I only leave this on for around 5-10 mins as it does actually feel quite astringent, but I really does feel like you’re getting a deep cleanse. I wouldn’t recommend this if you have sensitive skin!
Kadria Balancing Face Oil £12 for 15ml £24 for 30ml

Before I moisturise at night I use the Kadria Balancing Face Oil. This contains Egyptian Blackseed oil which has traditionally been used in the Middle East to heal skin conditions.  The essential oils of palmarosa and rose geranium are balancing oils - helping to control sebum production.  Also Frankincense and Neroli helps regenerate the skin and uplift the spirits.
Since using this face oil, my skin has felt so healthy and supple, I feel that it has improved the elasticity in my skin. This is also great for women who are experiencing dry taught skin before or after pregnancy. Love this!!

Sudocrem  £2-£5

Cheryl Cole is a big fan of Sudocrem apparently and if its good enough for her it’s good enough for me! It was a bit odd getting my head round it to start with as it is traditionally used on babies bottoms to heal nappy rash, I used the stuff on my kids and it works wonders. However due to it’s antiseptic properties it’s great used on acne and blemishes. So when I feel a big’un brewing I dab some on the inflamed area and by the morning the redness and swelling has reduced!!

Night Moisturise
Trilogy Ultra Hydrating Face Cream £24.50

For the last 6 months I’ve been taking medication before bed for migraines and as a result, during the night my skin and mouth get really dry, so before bedtime I like to apply a rich cream. So at the moment I am using the Trilogy Ultra Hydrating Face Cream. This contains Manuka Honey, which is rich in vitamins and minerals, Evening Primrose and coconut which helps hydrate and soften, and lavender which helps relax and calm the senses. Luckily it doesn’t smell too strongly of lavender as I’m not generally a fan. This helps my skin feel hydrated and human again!!

I know my skincare routine may look a little all over the place due to products for oily and also dry skin being used! But since having children, my hormones have been all over the place which seems to have affected my skin mostly and also medication I've been taking, I feel these products have really helped.

What is your skincare routine like? What other products would you recommend?

Gold, Frankincense & Myrrh!.........

Ok so now that we are in September, for me we’re already on the countdown to Christmas!!! I know some of you will wildly disagree with me, but I know a lot of you big kids (like me) out there would agree!!
So if (again, like me) you’re planning ahead and already thinking of Christmas pressies, wanna find something really unusual and luxurious for your Mum, best friend, sister etc, then take a look at this festive treat!

Here I have 3 amazing products to represent Myrrh, Frankincense and Gold!
Myrrh  Comvita Active Lifting Serum

Comvita Active Lifting Serum contains HUNI®XA Manuka Honey which supports the natural collagen in skin and the elastin structure helping skin remain firm and lifted.  Manuka Honey has long been used in healthy living for its anti-bacterial uses but the new research conducted by Comvita has shown it is also a powerful anti-ageing tool. Myrrh has also been used in the Active Lifting Serum as it is a brilliant skin plumper, providing deep moisturisation and reducing the depth of wrinkles.

The RRP for this is £40 and is available at Harrods, Health Matters, The Natural Works Company, As Nature Intended, www.mypure.co.uk and www.comvita.co.uk

Frankincense Trilogy Nourshing Body Lotion

And my favourite......

Gold  The Guerlain L’Or Radiance Concentrate with Pure Gold
Infused with 24-carat gold this radiance-boosting concentrate instantly cools, and tightens the complexion, minimising the appearance of fine lines and promoting an unparalleled radiance. Worn on bare skin or under make-up, the gold-flecks promote a superior luminosity that lasts from morning til night.

The RRP for this is £42.50 and is available from Harrods.

Ok, so you’d have to be Tamara Ecclestone to afford all 3 of these for all your BFFs, I just love the concept!

I’ve not tried any of these yet, but I certainly intend to! I’ll have to sweet talk the hubby! I so badly want to own a radiance boosting product containing pure GOLD!!!

My First PR Event, Trilogy & Keromask.

On Tuesday I went to my first ever PR event, needless to say I was pretty excited! Being my first, I had no idea what to expect. Who would be there? Will I recognise anyone? And of course what do I wear??? I thought I’d go smart, so I decided on a pretty black, flowery dress and black Mary Jane shoes. Boy, did I get it wrong, everyone was pretty cool and casual, and my feet were killing me, actually they were killing me before I’d arrived!
Apart from feeling like an over dressed newbie, I really enjoyed it! I got to meet the gorgeous ladies behind the emails at Pegasus PR, who were all so lovely and were very clued up on the products.

We arrived at Bills Restaurant in Covent Garden at 8.30am, greeted by the very friendly staff and guided upstairs where the event was taking place.  First I saw a table with a delicious spread of croissants, cupcakes, tea cakes, fruit, fudge and fruit juices.  Beyond the yummy food I saw all the fantastic products we were there to see and try.

I recognised the Trilogy brand as I have used a couple of their products, but I was excited to see the rest of the range. They have some gorgeous products and ranges which I wasn’t familiar with.
Age Proof  - products for mature skin, an ideal regime to combat deeper lines and wrinkles, loss of elasticity, dryness and pigmentation.

Face Care – A range of cream and gel cleansers, a gentle facial exfoliant, a purifying masque and an award winning daily moisturiser. To name but a few!

Sensitive Skin – This alcohol and fragrance free range helps strengthen and protect sensitive skin to restore optimum skin health and a radiant glow. In this range you will see.
Very Gentle Moisturising Cream
Very Gentle Cleansing Cream
Very Gentle Calming Fluid

Body Care – This collection includes body moisturisers, a Botanical Body Wash, hand care products and luxurious body oils that pamper and nourish skin from head to toe with pure plant oils, extracts and essential oils.

Natural Actives For Men – This range is made up of a simple four step grooming regime for men that blend energising minerals and soothing plant oils. In this range you will see.
Face Wash + Scrub
Smooth Shave Cream
After Shave Balm
Moisturiser with SPF15
Hair Care – This gentle, effective hair care range is suitable for all hair types and conditions. Due to the pure plant oils, extracts and essential oils which reinforce the hairs body, shine and vitality.
Trilogy also do the Everything Balm, you may remember I did a post about this fabulous product back in June, so take a look at my review!
I was lucky enough to receive a Trilogy goodie bag containing the Vital Moisturising Cream SPF15, Age ProofCoQ10 Eye Recovery Concentrate and Certified Organic Rosehip Oil for scars, wrinkles and stretch marks.
Once I have used these products I will do a separate review.

Then I saw celebrity makeup Artist Eryca Freemantle giving colour matching consultations for the Keromask foundation which was the other brand being introduced to us at the event.
Eryca is the brand consultant for Keromask who has worked with the team to develop this new range.
Due to a devastating car crash in her 20’s Eryca was left with very nearly the loss of her leg, losing her hair, severe scarring and discolouration to her face.  This is what motivated her to train in corrective makeup. And then become involved in the making of Keromask 100%  waterproof Camouflage Cream Foundation and the Mineral Rich Finishing Powder.
The foundation is suitable for disguising all skin imperfections ranging from acne, vitaligo, rosacea, scars, dark circles and even unwanted tattoos.
Here is Eryca giving me my consultation
I got to take away a foundation (£14.99), translucent powder (£15.99) and the facial wipes (£4.99). I will do a separate review on this once I’ve used it!
Sorry for the poor pic, I'll improve this asap!

Ok, so that was my first PR event which I really enjoyed. I promise not to go quite into detail of what I was wearing etc etc with every event I (hopefully) go to. Come on, it was my first, I was excited!! J
