Adee Phelan Haircare Product Launch!

Does anyone remember The Salon? It was a reality show aired in 2003-2004, based around, you’ve guessed it.....a salon! There were some 'out there' characters, Ricardo, cute Leo and even Ozzy Osbourne’s nephew Terry, but one of the more colourful hairdressers was Adee Phelan , with his shaved head, tattoos and out spoken personality he certainly stood out.

He then made it big by creating one of David Beckham's iconic hairstyles!

So the guy has done pretty well for himself, with two of his own salons, in Covent Garden and Birmingham and salons opening in New York and Vegas.

He has now launched his own hair care range. The range consists of styling products named ‘Fabulous’, including Extravagant Mousse, Sexy Styling Spray, Opulent Dry Shampoo and the Essential Everything Spray. Shampoos and Conditioners are of course featured. Prices for this are between £5-£6 in Boots.

The really exciting addition is the Hair Colour Remover, this removes permanent and semi permanent hair colour by reversing the colour process, without containing ammonia or bleach, sounds crazy, I know but check out here  for more details!

It also removes colour build up as well as build up from styling products. It contains extract of pearl to help straighten the hair. Check out Adee’s video demonstrations here. You can pick this up in Boots for £14.99, a great price for such an effective product!

I was invited to attend the hair care product launch, which took place Friday night at Sugar Hut in Essex where Adee is originally from.

I got to have a chat to Adee regarding his new range which he is very proud of, and so he should be, it’s flying off the shelves in Boots.

I remember Adee being a bit of a hothead on The Salon so I was a little apprehensive at the thought of meeting him, but he was a really lovely guy, very happy to chat and made me feel very welcome and comfortable at his launch......although that could have been down to the free Champagne!!

The night itself was fabulous, we were taken to a VIP room at Sugar Hut, I was greeted by Bobbie the gorgeous PR girl for the haircare range, Adee and even Sugar Hut Daddy Mick Norcross stopped to chat!

I have to boast a little bit here as I was the only blogger chosen to go, this is a massive thing for me, being a relatively small blogger, and for Adee and his team to pick me over many amazing blogs is an honour!
I attended the event with my friend Lisa who had actually had her hair cut by Adee back in 2003 on The Salon, they chatted and he remembered her!

On leaving Adee handed us goodies bags with some gorgeous products to try. I will be reviewing these products soon.

Go Adee!!!!

My Top 5 Glosses!

“My name is Emma and I am a Glossaholic”
I’m a bit of a lipgloss junkie, I have a LOT! I find myself saying all too often while in Boots “Do I really need another pink gloss?!” The answer is always No, but I just cannot help myself!

I thought I’d just share my 5 favourite lipglosses with you, my go–to glosses which I wear most days!

GOSH Intense Lip Colour in 304 - £7.99

This is the most pigmented gloss I think I’ve ever owned; the colour is a beautiful deep plum. This lasts so long on the lips, but once the gloss has worn off after eating and drinking, the colour stills remains. The packaging is fabulous with a mirror on the side and a light on the applicator, great for nights out when you need to quickly re-apply on the go! Love this!!

Revlon Super Lustrous in Pink Pop - £6.99

This gorgeous Barbie pink gloss is a fab summer colour, great for days when you maybe don’t want to wear a lot of makeup but want a pop of colour! It’s pretty well pigmented and lasts on the lips for 2-3hours.

MAC Dazzleglass in Baby Sparks - £16.50

This is maybe my favourite lipgloss, it’s my 3rd tube so far! This is the glossiest gloss I ever used. It’s a soft nude pink with the tiniest violet glitter flecks through it! Great worn on its own or on top of your favourite lipstick, I love to wear it over MAC Lovelorn or Speed Dial. The glitter in this shines beautifully and makes this super glossy!

Fashionista Plumping Lip Glaze in Coral Couture - £5

This gloss claims to plump the lips, it does leave a warm tingling feeling, although I’m not sure it makes my lips any fuller! But the colour is gorgeous, it’s a soft coral colour which compliments my skin tone really well. It’s quite sheer but gives a gorgeous wash of colour. This also smells delicious, I think its vanilla, it’s yummy!

MUA Out There Plumping Gloss - £2

So this is another gloss which claims to plumps the lips, which I’m not so sure about but I just love the colour, it’s a pinky peach tone, it’ s also very pigmented and last on the lips for a good 2-4 hours. Also with an amazingly cheap price tag of £2!!! Winner!!

What are your favourite glosses? Any other suggestions for me?

Happy 1st Birthday To My Little Blog!!

On this date a year a go, I sat at my dining table on my laptop looking for new beauty bloggers to follow. I'd been a massive fan of Laura aka Lollipop26 and had been so disappointed she was no longer blogging or making YouTube videos.

While searching, I suddenly thought I could create my own blog, it all went from there. My Mum has always called me Flossie, so the name for my blog was an easy and quick decision.
I've always loved reading product reviews and thought I could give it a go, so as soon as the blog was set up, I ran upstairs to my bedroom, picked a few of my favourite products I'd been using and started to write!!

Although I don't get to post as often as I'd like, blogging is addictive and I get a buzz everytime I click 'Publish'!

The last year has been crazy, I've been to some amazing events, met some lovely people, and made some really special friends, some I'd consider lifelong friends.

Thank you so much to all my followers, thank you for all your support and comments, they really mean a lot to me!

Happy 1st Birthday

Blonde......AGAIN!!

So after so not even 3 months of being red, I decided blonde is the real me, weirdly though as red/strawberry blonde is my natural colour! I realised I just feel a lot more confident blonde, more glam!

Due to red being such a strong colour I was sure it'd take a couple of trips to the hairdressers before getting back to my bright blonde shade, however first attempt and I'm back to what I know and love!!

After my hairdresser and good friend Lindsey took out all the foils and revealed the colour I could just burst with excitement, I wanted to do a little dance in my chair, I resisted for fear of looking like a right twit in front of the other clients!!

Anyway....here is the out come!!

What do you think??

My Skincare Routine!

I’m not so obsessed with skincare as I am makeup, although I do like to try and take care of my skin. My skincare collection isn’t as huge as some peoples but I thought I’d share my routine with you!
I’d love to say I have a normal skin type, lovely clear and blemish free, well I don’t! It’s very much combination, I have an oily T-Zone, but towards the end of the day my cheeks can feel tight and dry. I suffered with slight acne in my teens and as a result I have a little scarring on my cheeks and I still get the occasional breakout! Now that I’m approaching 30 *groans*, I’m aware that I should be using anti aging products!

Morning Cleanse

In the shower every morning I cleanse twice and at the moment I am loving the No7 Beautiful Skin Foaming Cleanser, it’s a very lightweight formula with a delicate fresh scent, perfect for the Morning!

Morning Treatment
After I have cleansed I apply the Manuka Doctor Skin Treatment Serum under my moisturiser, this is an oil-free, lightweight serum which helps skin like mine by smoothing the skins texture and reducing the appearance of scarring and fine lines. I am loving this at the moment, my skin feels smoother and it seems to have reduced redness on my cheeks.

After having around 4 years of broken sleep due to my young children, I have developed quite dark circles under my eyes and I have recently noticed fine lines, so I like to use a good eye cream. I use the Origins GinZing  Eye cream. Due to the caffeine, ginseng, and magnolia extract, this beautiful cream brightens the skin and reduces puffiness. It really freshens and adds radiance to the delicate eye area!

Morning Moisturise
Origins VitaZing SPF15 Eneryg Boosting Moisturiser  £26

Being so fair, I must use a moisturiser with an SPF. I love the Origins VitaZing SPF15 Engery Boosting Moisturiser, this adds radiance and protects the skin with the SPF. It also has a very sheer tint to it, which is great for when I want a very light coverage to wear on its own when I go to the gym!

Night Cleanse
Kleenex Facial Cleansing Wipes £2.99

I’m really lazy when it comes to cleansing at night, I always remove my makeup though as there is nothing worse than waking up with sticky eyes and a huge spot as a result of clogged pores. However If I’m not having a bath in the evening, I will just use a face wipe. I know this is terrible and they don’t remove nearly enough makeup as needed, I just can’t be bothered by the time I’m ready for bed. When I have a Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth cleanser on the go, I will make the effort. However right now I have run out so I’m using the new Kleenex wipes, they are quilted and super soft and really moist. So happy using these at the moment.

Night Treatment
Sanctuary Warming Microbrasion Polish £11.99

I like to exfoliate 3 times a week, my skin can look a little dull if I forget to. I love the Sanctuary Warming Micro Brasion Polish, this is possibly one of the best exfoliators I used (alongside Origins Never A Dull Moment). You apply it to damp skin, the very fine yet thick, dense scrub warms when massaged into the skin. This contains rich Beeswax, jojoba and wheatgerm which helps hydrate the skin.
Soap & Glory The Fab Pore Facial Peel £8

I also like to use a mask twice a week. At the moment I’m using the Soap & Glory The Fab Pore Facial Peel. This mask contains antioxidants Vitamins E & C, Salicylic Acid which loosens up the dead skin cells and Kaolin Clay which soaks up the excess oil.  This is definitely for an oily, problem skin, so I only use this on my T-Zone, I do occasionally have open pores on my cheeks, although I feel it would be a little harsh on those areas. You rub a small ‘grape sized dollop’ onto the face and massage until the green beads have dissolved and leave on for up to 15mins. I only leave this on for around 5-10 mins as it does actually feel quite astringent, but I really does feel like you’re getting a deep cleanse. I wouldn’t recommend this if you have sensitive skin!
Kadria Balancing Face Oil £12 for 15ml £24 for 30ml

Before I moisturise at night I use the Kadria Balancing Face Oil. This contains Egyptian Blackseed oil which has traditionally been used in the Middle East to heal skin conditions.  The essential oils of palmarosa and rose geranium are balancing oils - helping to control sebum production.  Also Frankincense and Neroli helps regenerate the skin and uplift the spirits.
Since using this face oil, my skin has felt so healthy and supple, I feel that it has improved the elasticity in my skin. This is also great for women who are experiencing dry taught skin before or after pregnancy. Love this!!

Sudocrem  £2-£5

Cheryl Cole is a big fan of Sudocrem apparently and if its good enough for her it’s good enough for me! It was a bit odd getting my head round it to start with as it is traditionally used on babies bottoms to heal nappy rash, I used the stuff on my kids and it works wonders. However due to it’s antiseptic properties it’s great used on acne and blemishes. So when I feel a big’un brewing I dab some on the inflamed area and by the morning the redness and swelling has reduced!!

Night Moisturise
Trilogy Ultra Hydrating Face Cream £24.50

For the last 6 months I’ve been taking medication before bed for migraines and as a result, during the night my skin and mouth get really dry, so before bedtime I like to apply a rich cream. So at the moment I am using the Trilogy Ultra Hydrating Face Cream. This contains Manuka Honey, which is rich in vitamins and minerals, Evening Primrose and coconut which helps hydrate and soften, and lavender which helps relax and calm the senses. Luckily it doesn’t smell too strongly of lavender as I’m not generally a fan. This helps my skin feel hydrated and human again!!

I know my skincare routine may look a little all over the place due to products for oily and also dry skin being used! But since having children, my hormones have been all over the place which seems to have affected my skin mostly and also medication I've been taking, I feel these products have really helped.

What is your skincare routine like? What other products would you recommend?
